About

Meet Nehemiah Wilkinson.

Nehemiah Wilkinson is born-and-raised in Stanford. Nehemiah started his career in public service as a firefighter at Stanford Fire Department. From there he built a career in public safety teaching at the police academy in Richmond, and currently works for a state agency supervising a team of auditors who evaluate every police department and school district in the Commonwealth to assess compliance with state statute and federal law.

Nehemiah and his wife, Tiffany, have two children, Ariah and Hezekiah. Tiffany earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky. She works in Stanford at a long-term care facility and has also worked in home health, so there's a good chance she may have cared for your family, friends, or neighbors. Nehemiah is a graduate of the University of Louisville, which makes their home living proof that love can bring together Cardinals and Cats.

Priorities

What I'll work on as mayor.

These are the commitments I'm making to Stanford, and I want every resident to have a hand in shaping them.

A Youth Advisory Council

I will start a Youth Advisory Council so young people in Stanford have a real seat at the table, a direct line to city leaders, and a hand in shaping the town they will one day inherit.

Safer sidewalks and walkable streets

I will invest in new and improved sidewalks so families can walk, run, and be active together without stepping into the road where cars travel.

A stronger downtown and Main Street

I will stand behind the small businesses that already make our downtown special and make it easier for new ones to open, so Main Street stays the heart of Stanford.

Neighbors helping neighbors

I will build a trusted volunteer network where neighbors who have passed a background check can sign up to help seniors and single parents with everyday tasks, from small repairs and yard work to errands and a hand around the house, so anyone who needs a little support knows exactly where to turn.

Support for our first responders

I will make sure our fire department and first responders have the equipment, fair pay, and staffing they need to keep response times fast as our town grows.

Open, transparent government

I will hold regular town halls, make it clear how the city spends its money, and keep open office hours so any resident can talk to the mayor without an appointment.

I want to find creative ways to bring every resident into city government, no matter their education or their financial background. Stanford works best when all of us have a hand in it.
